It's Me, The Travel Jawn!
giphy.com
First things first, welcome to my blog! This project has been on my mind for the past few years, and I’m excited to finally put it out for the world to enjoy. Hope you found it high on your search engine list lol.
My name is Stephanie, but you can call me Chubbs or most recently, self-dubbed, The Travel Jawn. I currently live and work in NJ; working in healthcare, specifically in open heart intensive care. I love what I do, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t reveal how stressful my professional life is, and how REAL job burnout can be. I like to think I handle stress pretty well, by having a very active self care and social calendar. I’m a firm believer of having a solid work-life balance, and when I’m not working, I’m most likely traveling.
I started traveling when I was young, with my family, and my first trip abroad was to London and Nigeria (where my family is from). Since then, I couldn’t shake the desire to see and do more beyond where I called home. So in my free time earned (PTO) and on long weekends, I travel around the world. Solo, with friends, with strangers, it really doesn’t matter...I’m easy going like that lol. My love for people, planning, curiosity to explore cultures, and some really great flight deals, has brought me to some of the most incredible destinations: Thailand, Indonesia, Portugal and Croatia are among my favorites. I’ve been to some pretty cool events as well, such as The Yacht Week and Coachella and some group trips with We Stay Traveling and more. The experiences I’ve gained from discovering different countries and people is something I hope can inspire others to experience for themselves.
“As you move through this life and this world, you change things slightly; you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life--and travel--leaves marks on you” Anthony Bourdain
So, remember when I said this blog has been on my mind for the past few years? Well, I’ve been wanting to start a blog for precisely 3, yes tree, years now, and I’m finally pulling the trigger, pow pow (I know lol but let me rock). On a serious note…fear, procrastination, a need for perfection, and excuses, all the things we’re not doing in 2020, will keep you from starting and following through on your goals. At least they have for me and I’m OVER IT! So, I’m here to move forward on things I’ve set out for myself to do, starting with my blog!
On the blog, I’ll be providing travel guides, group trip reviews, reviews on worldwide events, travel tips, lifestyle hacks, and more! Think of me as your travel guru, bestie, jawn if you would like :). My goal is that you, yes you, gain insight from my life and travel advice, relate to my blog whether you’re a new or seasoned traveler, and get inspired to see the world for yourself.
